BOLIVIA ON TVN‐DIRECT TV:
The main highlights from Latin America have been captivated by the magic camera of Marcelo Alvarez from Chilean TV for the program “Buscando America”. The series rescues the cultural and natural richness of the places visited and in this occasion, Marcelo Alvarez has filmed Lake Titicaca, highlighting Crillon Tours infrastructure and the creative force of the founder of Crillon Tours, Darius Morgan, who after 56 years of continuous operation ‐together with his two offspring’s‐ Margot and Darius, have deserve to be recognized worldwide as the Pioneers of Tourism in Bolivia. Marcelo Alvarez will soon film Uyuni Salt Flats & the Bolivian Amazon, connecting with Chile and Argentina, besides the Bolivian Amazons area in Madidi.
CRILLON TOURS DISCOVERS HIDDEN SECRETS AT UYUNI SALT LAKE:
The unmatched Uyuni Salt Lake has still virgin areas which we have recently prospected, allowing us to design a full day program starting from Jirira ‐Crillon Tours Operational Campers Centre‐ visiting the village of Garci‐ Mendoza, the Cajchi Island, ‐sister Island of Inkawasi‐ within a pristine environment covered by hundreds of cacti. We complement this great excursion with an archaeological experience at Alcaya Ruins, remains of an ancient city. Salinity, low temperatures and low rainfall have preserved these remains over centuries, as well as a necropolis with over 20 chullpas ‐graves with still intact bodies‐. Visit a huge crater which according to some theories, was made by a meteorite. Flamingos, llamas, alpacas and interesting flora are found on the way. Jirira is growing, offering now the services of the Salt Lodge “Doña Lupe”, with private rest rooms and a panoramic dining room.
NEW MARRIOT HOTEL IN SANTA CRUZ:
With the success of Marriott in Latin America and in the world, the Marriot Executives are confident that this hotel will be a great success and will play an important role in the continued development of Bolivia. "The USA chain “Marriott” will build for 2016 its first hotel in Bolivia, with 172 rooms and a conference room with space for over 600 people. Santa Cruz recently hosted a summit of the G77 + China, an international event that reflected the need for creating more tourist infrastructure in this tropical capital.
RESTAURANT GUSTU IN LA PAZ AWARDED:
The British magazine “Restaurant” published a list of the top 50 restaurants in Latin America.Bolivia first entered in this specialized gastronomic competition and the Restaurant of La Paz “GUSTU” was listed at number 32 and was also awarded as the best of its kind in Bolivia. The gala in which the winners were honored was held in Lima, Peru with the participation of renowned figures from the world of gastronomy.
AMASZONAS AIRLINES NEW ROUTES:
Starting October, Amaszonas Airlines will start international flights every MON/WED/FRI Santa Cruz/Oruro/Iquique (Chile), connecting soon with La Paz. The Vice President of the Airline, Mr. Luis Vera, announced that they will also fly to Asuncion, Montevideo and Salta. Amaszonas is a private company constantly expanding. This Chile international flight offers new alternatives overland itineraries from Oruro to Uyuni or v.v.
